5K to Support the Boys & Girls Club
On May 22, 2019, Exela’s #TeamStamford made an impressive showing at the Boys & Girls Club Corporate 5k, an annual road race to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, a not-for-profit providing school activities and youth development services to the underprivileged youth of Stamford. The course took participants on a tour of downtown Stamford, starting and ending at Stamford's waterfront. Employees from the Exela's small but scrappy #TeamStamford raised nearly $685 but won an age-group First Place (Go, David!)
2018
Turkey Trot
On Thanksgiving Day of 2018, Exela employees in Irving, Texas and Santa Monica, California participated in the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot and the Palisades Funding Annual Turkey Trot, respectively. Each was an opportunity for #TeamExela to do something for themselves and for the greater good. In both cases, funds were raised for SOFOSH, which provides medical care and rehabilitation to orphaned and underprivileged children in India. Exela employees raised a collective $7,200, which Exela matched for a total donation to SOFOSH of $14,400.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2018, Exela’s employees all over the world dressed in pink on Wednesdays while raising funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a not-for-profit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer via worldwide cancer research. Our employees raised $3,315. With Exela's matching contribution, a total of $6,630 was raised. A similar campaign is planned for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2019.
