Supporting Al Paine's 28th Boston Marathon
We’re very proud to have supported Exelarator Al Paine in his 28th Boston Marathon earlier this year! Al is a processor supporting payments and bills working out of the Medford Massachusetts location. Al finished in an impressive 3 hours and 20 minutes, beating the average runtime. Check out the Exela Shop for commemorative t-shirts celebrating Al’s 28th Boston Marathon, with all proceeds going to supporting the people of Ukraine.
Team Raises Over $105,000 For St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Since 2014 Rust/Exela has facilitated a fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and this year we were able to hit a milestone of raising over $105,862 since starting the fundraising effort. This year we raised $11,130 total, and were the #1 corporate fundraising team for St. Jude! We received an award for placing #4 overall in fundraising efforts (amongst corporate and patient family participants). In a recent Rust town hall, Jen Mills was recognized as the main organizer of this fundraiser.
Under the #ExelaCares initiative, #TeamExela has rolled out a fundraising campaign for its colleagues in India impacted by the second wave of the COVID-19 virus. The second wave, beginning in March 2021, has been much larger and devastating than the first, leaving millions across the country in a state of fear. Through the #ExelaCares campaign, we are hoping to raise funds to support our colleagues and their families affected by COVID-19 and let them know we've got their back during these trying times. In addition, Exela will match employee donations dollar for dollar, making it possible for us to go the extra mile in doing our bit and making a difference.
Exela has partnered with the esteemed Orthopaedic Institute for Children – the largest pediatric facility on the west coast focused solely on musculoskeletal conditions in children – to raise $2 million dollars! Every dollar of that will be earmarked to provide the most outstanding and comprehensive pediatric orthopaedic care for children who need it. Can we do it? You bet we can, in part because we’ve got the support of philanthropists, Renee and Meyer Luskin, who have pledged to match EVERY donation made to OIC…up to $2 million dollars by June 2020! Click here for a preview for what's to come, and check back often.
Here at Exela, we do what we can to reduce demand for plastic by encouraging and supporting plastic recycling and the use of sustainable substitutes for plastic, wherever possible. But we want to do more. That’s why we came up with OneRiver, which addressed the plastic problem right at the source: the rivers in our own backyards. On Saturday, April 11, 2020 and Saturday April 18, 2020, OneRiver will commence 24 hours of river cleanup.
